It runs smoothly and the smoke unit functions perfectly even in conventional mode. Since Lionel has been in business for so long, it is a company that knows how to make a quality product. For example, selecting the "no smoke" option on the bottom of the steamer is as easy as turning off the ceiling light in your living room.
